Why a raw connector is not enough

The report Amazon won’t give you

Amazon reports freeze, lag, and contradict each other with no visible error. Point an AI at that raw feed and it inherits every defect, then answers confidently anyway. Even where Amazon’s API returns settlement data, it doesn’t tie that cash back to individual SKU economics. We rebuilt that link from the Finances API.

Seller Labs reconciles, stores history, and resolves discrepancies before your AI ever sees a number.

Amazon provides the feed. Seller Labs provides the confidence.

Amazon froze inventory at zero for seven days.

Amazon renamed report columns without warning.

Your Business Report and Settlement Report disagree because the Business Report includes pending orders that haven’t settled yet. Here’s the reconciled number:

Why raw Amazon data breaks AI
What this actually looks like

One question. No report downloads. No spreadsheet.

Claude · Seller Labs Amazon MCP connected
Which SKUs lost money last month once you include fees, returns, storage, and ad spend?
Checked 438 active SKUs against reconciled July settlement data. Four are net negative:
SKUUnitsRevenueTrue netMargin
NCL-4421-BLK1,284$38,412-$4,106-10.7%
NCL-2210-2PK746$21,908-$2,733-12.5%
NCL-8890-LG412$14,220-$918-6.5%
NCL-1102-SM203$5,844-$377-6.5%
Worth flagging: NCL-4421-BLK shows a 3.1x ROAS in Amazon’s ad console. The loss comes from a 19% return rate plus $2,840 in long-term storage fees, reported separately by Amazon but allocated to this SKU here.

What operating Amazon through AI actually looks like

Without Seller Labs
  • Downloading a new Amazon report every time you have a question
  • Guessing at SKU profitability from sales numbers alone
  • Finding expensive problems after they’ve already cost you money
  • Making every change by hand inside Seller Central
With Seller Labs
  • Never download another Amazon report
  • Know true SKU profitability, not just sales
  • Catch expensive problems before they cost you money
  • Execute supported actions without Seller Central

How to connect Claude or ChatGPT to your Amazon account

Three steps. No developer portal, no API credentials to manage, no database to stand up.

1

Create your Seller Labs account

Authorize Seller Labs against Seller Central and Amazon Ads using Amazon’s standard consent flow.

2

Add the MCP to your AI tool

Paste one connector URL into Claude or ChatGPT. Nothing to install or self-host.

3

Ask your first question

Start with a starter prompt, or ask what changed in your account since yesterday.

Building this yourself
4 to 6 weeks

SP-API and Ads API integration, a warehouse to host it, schema-change maintenance, then the hard part: correctly modeling Amazon profitability across settlements, fee types, and account-level charges that never join to a SKU.

The art of the possible

Five things your AI can run for you

Workflows customers build in their first month.

Daily Amazon Account Brief

What changed overnight, before you open Seller Central.

PPC Profit Monitor

Find what to change, understand why, and change it in one conversation.

Continuous Account Audit

An agency-grade audit that runs every other day, not once a quarter.

Profitability Control Room

The full economics of every SKU, not just sales and ad metrics.

Amazon Leakage Monitor

See reimbursements Amazon has issued in one place, without diffing four reports by hand.

Agency Intelligence Platform

Your playbook, running as an operating system across every client.
Your operating logic, made repeatable

Turn how your best operator thinks into something the system can run

Every account has someone who just knows when a campaign looks wrong or a SKU is quietly bleeding money. Encode how your best operator evaluates campaigns and accounts so the process can be reused, reviewed, and improved instead of trapped in one person’s head, which is exactly what the Agency Intelligence Platform is built to do.

Guardrails, not guesswork

Warnings on the changes that carry the most risk

Every write action is logged before it runs, full stop. On top of that, the highest-risk actions get an extra warning: launching a campaign against low inventory (under 14 days of supply), or setting a budget more than 2x your 30-day average. You also control tool permissions in your AI client, including requiring confirmation on every action if you want it.

Common questions

Amazon MCP questions, answered

How do I connect Claude to my Amazon Seller Central account?

Create a Seller Labs account and authorize it against Seller Central and Amazon Ads through Amazon’s standard consent flow, then add the Seller Labs MCP connector to Claude. There is nothing to install, self-host, or configure in a developer portal. Most accounts are connected in under 15 minutes, and historical data is fully imported within about 2 days.

Does Amazon have an official MCP server?

Amazon exposes data through the Selling Partner API and Advertising API. Those give you access to raw responses, not a reconciled dataset. They do not retain history for you, do not compare sources against each other, do not tell you when a feed is stale or partial, and contain no cost or profitability logic. Seller Labs sits on top of those sources and maintains the layer in between.

Can I connect ChatGPT instead of Claude?

Yes. The Seller Labs MCP works with any client that supports the Model Context Protocol, including Claude, Claude Code, and ChatGPT. The same connection serves all of them, so you are not locked to one AI vendor.

Can the AI actually change my campaigns, or is it read-only?

It can change them. Every write action is logged to your audit trail. The highest-risk actions, like launching a campaign against low inventory or setting an unusually large budget, surface a warning first. You also control tool permissions in your AI client, including requiring confirmation on every action.

Why can’t I just point my AI at the Amazon API myself?

You can, and building the connector is the easy part. Correctly modeling Amazon profitability is not. Fees arrive across multiple report types, some charges never join to a SKU, report schemas change without notice, and Amazon’s own sources contradict each other. Teams typically spend four to six weeks getting to a first trustworthy answer, then own the maintenance forever.

What is the unified transaction report, and why does it matter?

It’s the settlement-level view accountants need to reconcile Amazon cash to individual SKUs and fees. Amazon’s API returns settlement data, but it doesn’t tie that cash back to SKU-level economics on its own. Seller Labs rebuilt that link from the Finances API, which is what makes true SKU-level profitability possible for your AI.

How much history do I get?

Data starts accumulating the day you connect, so we can’t pull in history from before setup. From there, Seller Labs keeps building and retaining your history for up to two years, well past Amazon’s own limited report windows.

Ask what is happening. Understand what to do. Make the change.

Connect your Amazon account to the AI tools your team already uses, or is about to start using.
